Start-up of the melting plant consisting of three 3×12 t induction medium-frequency crucible furnaces at Steel Armor, Kyshtym

In December 2022, Steel Armor LLC (Kyshtym, Chelyabinsk region) launched a melting complex of three melting furnaces with a capacity of 12,000 kg each, with a total power source of 11,000 kW.

Design of the power supply with TRIOMELT power distribution technology allows to set a required power at the same time for each furnace and use all power and reach a full potential. For example, to carry out a melting simultaneously in two furnaces, and to carry out holding and pouring of a smelt in a third.

Using the with high-power IGBT transistor, which has high reliability, provides smooth power control and the best protection for a power component of the installation. Due to the modern design, the power supply does not pollute a quality of power supply network and providing a cos Phi close to 1.

The melting complex has a function of automatic sintering and melting, an adjustment of a furnace tilting angle to display accurately the weight of the furnace content during the draining of the alloy.

Also the complex has position sensors for an exhaust hood, which opens in two directions and allows to adjust the performance of the dust removal and purification system, as well as automatic charge feeding devices for each furnace.
