Acceptance before shipment of the robotic cell for "side frame and bolster"

21.03.2013 in production workshop of EVOLUT (Italy) as per order from one of the leading wagon building plants in Russia, acceptance tests of the robotic cells for deburring of the “side frames” and “bolsters" were successfully done. Сomplete dedurring time for "side frame" is 19 minutes, for "bolster" 17 minutes.

The robotic cell consists of 2 positioners located opposite each other”. Positioners are designed for loading/ unloading of parts (castings). Casting locking devices are designed in such a way as to provide access for the tools for deburring all surfaces of the casting (except locking points). Positioners provide rotation of the part around horizontal axis. Between positioners 2 robots are located. Both positioners are alternately serviced by 2 robots. Each robot has a set of tools (8 items), which includes abrasive deburring and trim cutting discs.

After loading of the casting to one of the positions, robots with lasers located in the robot “wrists” check (measure with a laser) the surface of the casting (including the radiuses) in order to determine the ACTUAL geometry parts and adjust the location of the tool. After completing the cutting operation, the robots automatically change cutting discs to deburring ones. Periodically, robots are stopped in order to check the degree of wear of the abrasive discs and to level the working surface of the disc. During deburring process of the casting at one of the positions, at the opposite site the operator removes the already deburred part and sets up a new (raw) one.

The cutted parts of feeders, sprues fall on the lamellar located under the positioners conveyor and moved out from the cell.
